European Researchers’ Night
The European Researchers’ Night is a Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) action, under the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020; it consists of a pan-European event taking place on the last Friday night of September.
This year, the events will take place on Friday 30 September in over 250 cities. The European Researchers’ Night events in İzmir will take place at Yaşar University Bornova Campus on September 30th, 2016 between 14:00 and 22:00.
The European Researchers’ Night events in İstanbul will be organized by our partner organization İstanbul Governorship in cooperation with local associated institutions. The Night events in İstanbul will be held between 11:00 and 23:00 at MEV Private Basınköy College premises.
All activities during the event is free and open to everyone.
Science Unites All (SCI-ALL)
Science Unites All (SCI-ALL) is a European Researchers’ Night project funded by the European Commission under HORIOZN 2020 in the framework of the Marie Sklodowska Curie actions. Science Unites All project is coordinated by Yaşar University; and İzmir Governorship, İstanbul Governorship, İzmir Provincial Directorate of Education, Bornova District Education Directorate and Education and Institute of Education Youth Studies Association are partners in the project.
The SCI-ALL project will last 18 months and it will cover the European Researchers’ Night activities both in 2016 and 2017.
The SCI-ALL project aims to provide a platform for bringing researchers and public together and motivate young people for a scientific career pathways, it also aims to emphasize on how scientific activities and developments can contribute for uniting European society at national and international level by raising awareness on the power of the science for social cohesion, dialogue and also individual development.
Based on this general rationale, all activities of the “Science Unites All” (SCI-ALL) Researchers’ Night are constructed on the four main themes. These are: (1) Science unites generations, (2) science unites cultures; (3) science unites genders; (4) science unites stakeholders.
